As some of you may know, I have some health challenges. I have suffered from Ulcerative Colitis for 21 years now. I also have a strong intolerance to wheat and yeast, which means there's quite a lot of stuff I cannot eat. I have spent years of my life trying to figure out what foods work for me and what do not.
I have become quite an expert in collecting 'alternative' recipes - recipes that do not contain gluten or yeast and even not too much dairy.
It is not a fad diet for me, it is the only way I can live without pain.
However, I never like giving advice to people with regards to what they should be eating. Firstly and most obviously, the reason being that I am not a doctor and secondly we are all so different. We are all individuals and like my mother used to say, what works for the goose may not work for the gander.
Besides the fact that I have been dealing with Ulcerative Colitis for years, I would NEVER advise anybody on their diet. What I would like to do, regarding health and well-being, is to share my experiences in the hope it can support people going through similar health issues. I am good at listening to other personal experiences - in fact I love it, i.e. swapping notes/ideas and giving support to one another.
I usually follow a strict diet, it's the only way I can keep my Ulcerative Colitis under control, so sharing healthy recipes makes my life easier!! Again, diet for some people suffering from UC is not necessarily the be-all and end-all, but for me it really helps, that and exercise, meditation and friends!
Please share your ideas and let's see what we can do together.
Hugs and bubbles
Maria
